Students will study history from the 1850s to the late 1990s using Story of the World Volume IV: The Modern Age. This course is literature-based, and students will be required to read several historical novels over the summer and throughout the year. Students in the Middle class will have increased writing assignments. Students in this class are required to complete a History Alive presentation. Students will learn the basics of formal logic, including: how to properly define terms, how to form and interpret statements and how to compose valid syllogisms. 7th  and Up -- Students will learn and practice manners and social skills and why they are important. Students will have opportunities for practical application of the concepts and to learn several types of individual and couples dances. Students will round out the course with a Cotillion dinner/dance event.

5th - 6th -- Taught from a Christian perspective, students will learn manners and social skills and why they are important.

Life Skills ( 7th - 12th)

Students will have the opportunity to work alongside various instructors to learn important life skills such as automotive maintenance, basic sewing, basic construction, cooking, finance, first aid, self-defense, survival skills and basic civics.

Upper Drama (5th - 12th)

For more serious drama students, this class will study and perform the Shakespeare play, A Mid Summer Night's Dream, working to sharpen public speaking skills and build confidence in the process. Students will perform an abridged version of the play in the original Shakespeare language. Instructor: Mrs. Kate Paxton, Cost: $130 plus $15 supply fee to cover the cost of props and sound.

Psychology & Interpersonal Skills (9th - 12th)

Students will be given practical opportunities to learn important interpersonal skills including: conflict resolution, communication, and coping skills. This class will also explore attachment theory and how humans learn.

Study Hall (3rd - 12th)

Cost: $60/year/study hall hour

Students in grades 3rd through 10th who have a break in between classes, and whose parents do not remain on campus, may enroll in a study hall period for periods 1-5. An adult will be present to monitor the study hall. Students will be expected to work quietly. 

Physical Science (7th - 12th)

Geography & Literature K-2nd

Students in this class will explore excellent children's literature and US Geography through books and activities. Students will study a different region each week, learn the 50 US states and capitals, and discover important geographical features. Students enrolling in the 2nd grade class must be proficient at reading/writing. Meets once per week. **If there are not enough students to populate 2 separate classes, we will combine into 1.

Logic 2 (9th - 12th)

Students will learn propositional logic, including: truth tables, proofs, truth trees and digital logic. Students will spend the year studying Intermediate Logic: Mastering Propositional Arguments by Canon Press. Must have taken Logic 1 before enrolling in this class. PE (K - 2nd)

Students in this class will participate in organized physical activity. Students will be able to “get the wiggles out” and practice social skills with organized fun. Meets once per week. 

Early Drama (K - 2nd)

A fun introduction to drama, with the aim of building confidence, speaking & drama skills and character work. Children will explore different techniques and drama games through a variety of classical children’s story books.  Culminates in an informal performance. 

Choir (3rd - 8th)

Early Spanish

Comp 2 (4th - 6th)

Students will learn a variety of drama skills including: improvisation, devised theatre, mask work, and characterization in a fun setting. The class will participate in a performance of Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale towards the end of the school year.
